Before the introduction of Bollywood (the Hindi film industry), Nautanki was the most popular forms of folk theatre performances in Northern India and was the main source of entertainment in the villages & towns. Nautanki's rich musical compositions & humorous, entertaining storylines hold a strong influence over rural people's imagination.
