The Seton Catholic College was opened in January to serve as the Archdiocese of Perth's secondary school. St Brendan's College established in and De Vialar College established in formerly known as St Joseph's School in Fremantle which was developed by Society of African Missions and the Sisters in St Joseph of the Apparition respectively, formed the traditions on which the Seton campus was established. The very first roots of the campus are traced to the first religious sisters who landed at Bacher's Beach in Fremantle and founded Catholic Education in Western Australia.

The campus initially operated on the two institutions from which its traditions were sourced. The upper school students aged and occupied the De Vialar campus while the younger ones, between 8 and years, stayed at the St Brendan's campus. The patron of the campus was St Elizabeth Seton, a widow who had been very devoted to establishing the Parochial education system in the US. In , the college amalgamated to De Vialar campus where it still stands to date.
