Some requirements of LED performances



1. There needs high reliability, especially for the street lamp because it is installed in the high place, it is inconvenient to repair and the repair costs are very high.
2. High efficiency LED is an energy-saving product, so the efficiency of the driver power supply should be high. The structure that power supply is installed in the lamp is very particularly important. With an increase of LED temperature the luminous efficiency of LED decreases, so the heat dissipation of LED is very significant. Because of high efficiency and low loss of the power supply, the calorific value is very small, which is good for delaying the luminous decay of LED.
3. There are two kinds of driving method: The one is that one constant voltage source can provide many constant current sources and each of constant current sources can separately give electricity to every LED, which cannot have influence on other LED work. However, the cost of this method is a little high. The other one is a direct constant current power supply, the operation way of LED is series or parallel. Its cost can be lower, but there is poor flexibility. The two methods coexist in a period.
4. The surge voltage ability of LED is relatively poor, especially the ability of anti-reverse voltage. It is very important to reinforce the protection in this respect. Some LED lamps are installed in the outdoor. Because of the start of grid load and lightning induction, it will produce a variety of surge invading the grid system, which can lead to the LED damage. So the LED driving power supply needs to have the ability of surge suppression and protect the LED from being damaged.
