Brendon Smith, owner of BKS Stonemasons started his career as a stonemason in . His passion for stone, restoration and construction began when he started as a trade assistant for a heritage restoration company. His first project was to help restore an old historic fort in Newcastle NSW, Fort Schratchely. On this project he learnt conservation techniques, gained restoration skills, and learnt about the principles of stone and their many wonderful applications. As time passed on Brendon's passion started to grow for heritage restoration and stonemasonry. By the end of the project, Brendon knew that he was going to live a life living and breathing stonemasonry. Since then Brendon has completed his certificate III in stonemasonry & monumental masonry, has also completed a certificate IV in building and Construction and has clock up over years experience. In this time, Brendon has been invoiled in, and has supervised many challenging and succesful projects, these projects havae ranged from Domestic paving and walling jobs to multi million dollar restoration projects. Over the years Brendon has had the privelige of gaining experience and knowledge In the many various fields of stonemasonry. Some of these areas include, Heritage restoration, monumental stonemasonry, Concrete remediation, domestic, commercial etc. By working in these various fields Brendon has aquired a vast knowledge of stone and their uses.
