At First Pointe dancing is for fun! All students any age learn the correct technique, build on performance experience & treasure all the wonderful memories made. First Pointe caters for 2 and a half years up to senior adults in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary dance. First Pointe has four dance studio locations: North Shore Community Centre Mudjumba, Buderim Mountain Primary State School Hall, Coolum Beach Primary State School Hall & Peregian Beach Community House. Principal/Owner Laura Shuttlewood has over 7 years of dance teaching experience to children as young as 2 years up to adults. Laura trained in Mackay for ten years and competed in dance eisteddfods along the Queensland coast ,winning multiply trophies. Her talents ventured her over to London where she was accepted into the Royal Ballet School associate program and became a full time dance student at Central School of Ballet for 3 years. She toured around the UK to theatres with Ballet Central Company and received her Degree and Diploma in Professional Dance & Performance Studies. Laura's passion for dance inspired her to open up her own dance school in her home town Mackay for 2 years where she entered students in Major RAD & CSTD Examinations and also entered students in the local Eisteddfod with all students being very highly successful. Laura relocated to the Sunshine Coast in and restarted up First Pointe to teach children and adults of any age the full enjoyment of dance. Come join the dancing fun at First Pointe!
