Liz Dare Civil Celebrant

"Congratulations … if you’ve found this page there’s a wedding on the horizon. There’s nothing more special than your wedding day, and it’s my belief the ceremony needs to do some important things:

It needs to be personalized reflect your unique relationship
It needs to set an atmosphere of joy and celebration while infusing meaningful moments
It needs to be memorable

Whether you want a ceremony that’s short and sweet or filled with ritual and verse, the most important decision is to first find a celebrant who understands your style and values and has the skill to represent that in your ceremony.

My goals when working with you are:

To guide you through the legal requirements for getting married, &
To work with you to capture the essence of you as a couple and represent this in a ceremony that reflects your character, style and values.
If that’s what you are looking for, then make contact to check my availability and arrange a meeting.

Your first meeting is obligation free and gives you an opportunity to know whether I am the celebrant for you before confirming your booking. In this meeting I will give you all the information about what you need to do to be married and share the framework I use to work with you to develop your ceremony. In this meeting, I also explain my fee structure offer a quote based on your preferences. Fees range from $ to $, and may include travel costs for rehearsal and ceremony further than a km round trip.

At the completion of the meeting you can take the information away and decide together … no pressure.

I am available for ceremonies in Perth, Perth Hills, rural and regional areas.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Liz Dare

About Me

Many people ask what made me want to become a celebrant?

On reflection I realised … I’ve been doing elements of this work as long as I can remember. It started when I married my cat and dog as an 8 year old. I have been writing verses, poems and speeches to celebrate and commemorate since I was years old. In early adulthood, I became the go-to person in my family to speak at special celebrations.

For me ceremony is bringing meaning and joy to the special moments and stages in our lives – it provides a much needed opportunity to pause, acknowledge and take in the joy and beauty of the people and life passages we go through. And it has always been a special part of my life ... I worked with my husband to create our own wedding ceremony, and I created a naming ceremony for my daughter. I didn’t know it then but I was taking steps toward what would one day be a most rewarding vocation – the privilege of being a celebrant.

My work background

My first “real job” after university was as a facilitator for outdoor development programs that focused on building leadership, communication and team work skills for the corporate sector. Having grown up in the country, I found this a great way to enjoy the outdoors and work with people – I’ve always needed both. I have also worked in the not for profit sector and local government in community development involving projects with people from many different cultures. This experience has given me a real appreciation of different customs and beliefs and I always support and encourage my clients to explore creative ways to acknowledge their heritage by integrating meaningful traditions and customs into their ceremony if they are inspired to do so. In more recent years, my work as a self employed facilitator, coach and designer of learning programs has given me the opportunity to fine tune and further develop the listening, writing and speaking skills required to be a successful celebrant. You can be confident that I will listen to your thoughts and ideas and work with you to create a ceremony that represents your unique values, character and style.
