Providing professional support for heritage conservation Applied Building Conservation Training is the training division of HSR (SA) that offers professional services, education and training within the conservation and restoration industry. Applied Building Conservation Training runs in collaboration with the Construction Industry Training Board in South Australia and the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources and other similar organisations. Recently, Applied Building Conservation Training was awarded with the SA Heritage Heroes for their contribution to the conservation of South Australia heritage, recording of its history and the education and training it provides on the same. The education and training sessions that fall under the Applied Building Conservation Training are differentiated into Course for Homeowners and Bespoke courses. The education and training courses of Applied Building Conservation Training are short courses that are led by the conservation experts and they provide the owners with theoretical and hands-on experience which could be quite difficult to obtain anywhere else. Along with conjuring their our own series of courses and events the Applied Building Conservation Training Academy also provides customised one or two day courses for other related and interested organisations. The education and training sessions would basically cover a number of introductory conservation topics. However, these courses can also include practical elements such as lime mortar, stone conservation and other artisan subjects. Applied Building Conservation Training Academy has recently run a series of courses South Australian and New South Wales Councils in various locations, including remote and regional areas.
